Trades and Services The Marina is restricted in the way it uses its facilities for the repair and maintenance of boats by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Pollution of the Environment Act. To comply with these Acts the Marina has designated the slipway and workshop as our Work Place and as a result all those entering the work place must be appropriately indoctrinated. Only Davis Marina staff and Sailor Marine Engineering staff have access to the workshop and slipway.

Preferred Contractors The Marina operates a preferred contractor scheme. These contractors have been chosen because they are experienced, able to work on our slipway and workshop and hold appropriate insurance. Sailor Marine will be the marinas preferred contractors for all mechanical, electrical, shipwright and antifouling services. The hourly rates are as follows: Mechanical, electrical and shipwright labour $ 99.00 Non tradesmen’s labour $ 75.00 Toilet repairs $130.00 Estimates/proposal to trade can be supplied for all mechanic/electrical and shipwright work and charged at an hourly rate of $99.00.

A contractor is a person who works for gain or reward, whether monetary or otherwise, on a boat in or on a Davis Marina berth or mooring, or gains access to the boat by means of a Davis Marina facility such as pick up and drop off pontoon, a dinghy or our tender. Registration must be completed by all contractors prior to working on any boat on the marina or on a Davis Marina mooring. To complete registration the following details are required: 1 Authorisation from the boat owner by letter or email 2. A current Certificate of Currency for Public Liability Insurance (min. $10,000,000 or more) 3. A current Certificate of Currency for Workers Compensation (if a Pty Ltd company) 4. A current Marine Card 5. Completion of the DavisMarina Induction Requirements 6. Complete the sign in form at the marina office prior to commencement of work each day
No access to slipway or workshop No access to the tender (Runaround) or workboats No access to marina equipment or tools Work to be conducted between 9 am and 5 pm.
Clients must make their contractors aware of the marina requirements prior to their arrival. |
