We are pleased to inform you that stage one of the path repairs, between the car park and Davis Marina, are complete and the path has re-opened for use.
The path was built in 1947 by Steve Davis before the roadway was formed, making it the only access to the boatshed. Over the years the busy little walkway has seen very little or no repairs and due to erosion from the road’s drainage and high foot traffic we noticed that the path needed some attention.
The wonderful Davis Marina staff, more used to working on boats and marinas, decided to tackle the path by slowly bringing it back to life step by step. You will notice that we have laid down new steps and installed a handrail for your convenience.
Stage two, happening in the next few months, will see a refurbishment to the upper end of the path with an additional two steps allowing for better drainage.
We thank you for your patience while we improve the walkway, and we hope you enjoy walking the updated path.
