The Marina has a crane that can be used to lift masts, engines and equipment from boats to the Marina deck. Only Davis Marina staff may use the crane.

A mast lift includes the crane hire, crane driver and assistant. When loading a mast onto a road trailer it also includes two extra men to assist carrying. If more than four men are required to carry a mast the owner will need to supply the extra labor. This labor should be insured appropriately.

Engine lifts are charged at $ 87.00 per hour with a minimum of $ 115.00 per lift.

The Marina can tow boats to 80 feet on Sydney Harbour. The towing cost shown in the following table is for boats less than 40 feet, it the boat exceeds this length then the cost should be doubled. If an opening of the Spit Bridge is required then add an extra $ 48.00. There is no charge for permanent mooring or berth clients or for members of our Runaround Club if the boat is being towed for a slipping.

If you experience difficulties while on the Harbour, do not panic!!! Stay calm and take action to secure your crew and vessel. In the case of engine failure or rigging problems, drop anchor to prevent your boat drifting onto the rocks. Call for help.

Davis Marina staff may be able to help vessels requiring assistance in the North Harbour area. Phone the Marina office (9948 3750 or 9949 3711), or radio in on weekends (channel 96), and request assistance. Please keep in mind, however, that our tender service takes priority over towing jobs. We will not divert the Runaround from its tender duties to tow boats back to moorings and berths. You may have to wait for the tender to become available to help you.

For assistance anywhere else on Sydney Harbour, or off the coast, contact the Water Police of NSW. You can do this by phoning them on 9692 5411 or by contacting the Marina office, by phone or radio, and having our staff contact them on your behalf. The Water Police will assess the situation and provide the necessary assistance. This may mean that your boat is towed to and moored on one of the many police moorings located around the Harbour. To organise for Davis Marina to tow your boat back to North Harbour from a police mooring contact the Marina office. Towing service is available on weekdays, see for towing fees.
